Crochet Club

This club is for all crochet enthusiasts, from absolute beginner to advanced.  So bring your yarn, tools, and projects to SewGreen@Rochester for some new ideas, help, or just to meet other crocheters in town! (Knitters welcome!)

Family Sewing Club

Curious about sewing and other needle-arts? Join us at the shop every Saturday morning at 11 a.m. Explore hand-sewing, machine-sewing, weaving, knitting, crocheting, and more. We have lots of crafts supplies to share with you, and it's all free of charge. Join us!

Felted Mittens

Diane Phillips is here to help you create a one of a kind pair of warm mittens made from reclaimed felted wool with fleece lining. Choose from a selection of up-cycled wool from thrift store wool sweaters. All of the wool is pre-washed before class. You can wear your mittens home!

Quilt Block of the Month

Join our monthly quilt class and learn the techniques of modern quilt piecing. Learn to use modern quilt measuring and cutting tools to create a unique quilt block each month. Straight seams, points, and curves will be taught, along with the all-important ¼ inch seam allowance. You will complete a quilt block in each class. Join us each month or take the classes that fit your schedule!

Serger 101/201

Sergers can be a little intimidating but they are great sewing tools once you understand how to use and adjust them to suit your project!  In the 101 class, learn the basics of threading and tension.  For Serger 201, you've learned the basics but want to go further!  Bring your serger, or sit down at the shop sergers.  If you bring your own, don't forget your serger's manual and all its feet, too!

Sewing Machine 101/201

Make friends with a sewing machine in our shop or bring yours from home. We will take you through the basics of machine operation and safety, and guide you toward sewing a project. Then, build on the skills you've gained in 101. Is there a sewing project that interests you, or that you want to complete? How can your newly-gained sewing machine skills help you achieve that goal? This is the place and time to learn!

Learn how to keep your sewing power tool purring along! We'll teach you the best ways to clean out the dust, fluff and bits of thread that clog your machine's action, and the safest ways to lubricate its parts.

'Tis the season! Are you ready? Choose from a menu of simple gift ideas to make for your friends and family. Let us help you make simple gifts for the loved ones in your life. A pillow, an apron, a tote bag, ornaments made from buttons or felt, you name it; we have the materials, the equipment and the space for you to make it. We have projects suitable for ages 5 & up. This class is free of charge and we encourage all ages to re-capture the joys of a handmade holiday.

This is a four hour class. Learn how padding a dress form to your unique shape and measurements can help you put together outfits and understand the fit of your clothing. Professional measurements will be included.
