We offer a variety of classes rooted in the fiber arts. Classes range from beginner to advanced levels. All classes are held on-site in the shop unless otherwise noted.

Sewing 101

Learn the basics of using a sewing machine in this beginner-friendly class. Practice the essential techniques like straight stitching, backstitching, and simple hand sewn closures as well as machine safety.
Sewing 201: Mastering Your Machine

Take your sewing skills to the next level by learning to confidently use and troubleshoot your own machine! This class covers tension adjustment, stitch selection, presser feet, basic maintenance, and more.

Advanced Embroidery

Beginning Knit

Dive into the world of yarn with this beginning knitting class. You’ll get hands-on practice with hand control, casting on, the knit stitch, and casting off – everything you need to start your first project.
Fearless Fashion Camp

Fearless Fashion Camp takes you from sketch to runway in just 2 weeks! Learn or refine the full fashion process—brainstorming ideas, choosing fabric, sewing, fitting, and finishing a one-of-a-kind outfit. Enjoy two inspiring field trips, nutritious snacks, and hands-on guidance each day from 9AM–1PM. Build skills, express yourself through fashion, and shine in a final runway-style showcase!
Open to ages 10+, with space for just 12 creative campers.
Zippers Without Fear

Conquer your fear of sewing zippers! This beginner-friendly class will teach you how to install a zipper by machine. Great for adding polished closures to bags, garments, and more!

Granny Square Fun

Explore the many ways to make granny squares, from simple to complex. Perfect for practicing and expanding your skills, these versatile motifs can be joined into blankets, scarves, bags, and more!
Bring your own yarn and hooks, or purchase materials at SewGreen (not included in class fee).
BASIC CROCHET SKILLS REQUIRED
Chaos Quilting
$40
Break the rules and embrace creativity with Chaos Quilting! This fun two day, low-pressure class encourages improvisation using mismatched scraps, uneven shapes, and bold combinations. Perfect for using recycled or leftover fabric. Chaos quilting is eco-friendly, expressive, and all about making one-of-a-kind quilts with personality – no perfection required.
Bring any scraps you’d like, and feel free to browse SewGreen beforehand for more. Thread and batting are provided. Please bring about 1½ yards of backing fabric (either one piece or a mix large enough for four 12½" squares)
BASIC MACHINE SEWING SKILLS REQUIRED - Limited to 4 students, must register for both sessions on Aug 16th and 17th.

All cancellations must be made with a minimum of 24 hour advance notice.
If you are cancelling 24 hours or more prior to a class you may be entitled to a refund or rebooking of the class.

Classes may not be refunded unless the class is cancelled by SewGreen Rochester.
If you are cancelling due to illness or emergency, please do so by calling the shop at 585-328-2642 with a minimum of 24 hours before the class.
No call-no show’s will not be entitled to a refund or rescheduling of the class.
