SewGreen Annual Report 2025
A message from the President
“Lives stitched together through community, creativity, and sustainability.”
2025 was certainly a year of change and resilience for SewGreen Rochester. Founded in 2015 by Georgia Carney, we are now in our tenth year! It was time to celebrate all SewGreen has done for the community, but plans for a celebration had to be put on hold until we found a new space. After several months of looking, Home Leasing Inc. offered SewGreen increased space at 560 West Main Street. We all feel fortunate to stay in the Susan B. Anthony neighborhood where we have built community and created a destination point for sewists and fiber artists. We look forward to collaborating with our neighbors on future programming.
This new space provides a clean slate to celebrate the next ten years of SewGreen. We look forward to Spring 2026 when we will be able to have a party! Save the Date for our Grand Opening on April 12.
Mike Caputo, our sole staff member and new Shop Manager has become the “go to” person for just about everything SewGreen. Mike works tirelessly to provide the day-to-day operations of the shop, all the social media, website work, administrative needs as well as providing a clear desire to see SewGreen prosper in the community. I also have much gratitude for our Board of Directors and their continued support with planning and maintaining the mission. I have a special shoutout to Betsy Lewis, our Treasurer who keeps us on track!
We look forward to 2026 with increasing our classes, collaborating with other community organizations with programming, and increasing our volunteer base to support our mission.
